Rebecca Blankenship

CBT Therapist, EMDR Therapist

Hi I’m Rebecca Blankenship! I’m a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, and you might also call me a supportive listener, skills teacher, and confidence builder.

I support those facing difficult times in learning how to care for themselves so that they can reach their goals. I help my clients identify fears that have been holding them back and build needed skills to enjoy their lives again.

I enjoy working alongside people who want to be more mindful in their lives, who are tired of living in past trauma or suffering from future anxieties. My clients appreciate my calm demeanor even while discussing stressful topics.

I’m particularly passionate about working with young adults as they face life transitions, navigate relationships, and seek their purpose.

More About Rebecca Blankenship:

Have you ever found yourself thinking a part of me feels one way and another part of me feels another? Through my training and experience with Ego State Interventions, or parts work, I can help you sort out these internal conflicts, offer repair for past hurts, and replace protective behaviors that are no longer useful in your current life.

Do you question your self-worth, fear being alone, or feel overly responsible for the outcomes of situations? These are very common unhelpful beliefs in the clients I work with. My training and experience with EMDR therapy can help us to build more helpful resources, reprocess distressing memories, and target future fears. Therapy is hard work and I believe that my clients can feel worthy regardless, know they are deserving of connection, acknowledge appropriate responsibility, and work to accept themselves.

Theoretical Orientation:

As a clinician, I am person-centered focusing on the client’s skills and needs. I believe that clients have it within themselves to work toward healing. It is my role to help build a safe, supportive therapy space to allow this healing.

I work with my clients to identify their goals for therapy. Based on these goals, I provide effective, evidenced-based strategies to support my clients growth. I will provide education to help you better understand your experience and feel empowered to address your symptoms. I use CBT and DBT strategies to identify patterns in thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and body sensations. I teach relaxation, mindfulness, acceptance, and healthy communication skills. I offer EMDR and parts work to address the impact of anxiety and past traumas. It is possible to feel better, connect to your values, and experience confidence again.
