Hi, I’m Dayana.
You might be getting through your days, meeting your responsibilities, and showing up for everyone who needs you while wondering why everything feels harder than it should. Maybe you replay conversations, second-guess decisions, feel guilty asking for what you need, or find yourself struggling after a major change in your life.
I work with people navigating anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, and life transitions. My goal is to help you understand what you’re experiencing, manage difficult symptoms, and find practical ways to make daily life feel more manageable.
As a mother, immigrant, and military spouse, I understand that starting over and adjusting to changing roles can bring mixed emotions. You can appreciate parts of your life and still feel lonely, overwhelmed, frustrated, or unsure of yourself. Therapy can give you space to work through those feelings, understand what you need, and decide what comes next.
If you’re ready to begin, I invite you to schedule a free consultation.

More About Dayana Creighton
Have you ever understood why you struggle but still felt unsure what to do differently? You might know you need a boundary but feel guilty setting it, recognize that you are overthinking but cannot seem to stop, or feel unsure of yourself after a major change. I work with people navigating anxiety, low mood, self-doubt, relationships, and life transitions, with a particular interest in motherhood, pregnancy and postpartum changes, relocation, and shifting family roles.
My background in education, mentoring, and counseling has shaped how I look beyond the concern that brings someone to therapy. Relationships, responsibilities, expectations, and life circumstances can all influence how we think, feel, and respond. I also understand the challenges of starting over through my own experiences as an immigrant, mother, and military spouse. These experiences have shaped my understanding of identity, belonging, and change while leaving room for your experience to be your own.
Sometimes a life change can bring happiness and difficulty at the same time. Therapy can give you space to talk honestly about those mixed feelings, understand what you need, and find practical ways to move forward.
Clinical Background:
I received my Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the College of William & Mary in 2024. I am a North Carolina Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA) and practice under clinical supervision.
My professional experience includes working in education, mentoring, and counseling settings with children, adolescents, and families. My clinical work focuses on helping clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, relationships, and life circumstances.
Specialized Trainings:
Some of the specialized training and continuing education I have completed includes:
- CBT Foundations
- CBT for Depression
- CBT for Anxiety
- CBT for Personality Disorders
- Mindfulness-based approaches
- DBT-informed skills
I am also pursuing further training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
Types of Treatment:
I have experience supporting clients with a range of concerns, including:
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Life transitions
- Postpartum and perinatal concerns
- Parenting
- Relationship issues
- Self-esteem and self-doubt
- Women’s mental health
- Identity and adjustment concerns
I also work with clients who feel stuck in patterns such as overthinking, difficulty setting boundaries, guilt about putting themselves first, or uncertainty about what they need from their relationships and daily lives.
Theoretical Orientation:
I use a collaborative, person-centered approach that incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and DBT-informed skills. I believe therapy works best when we decide together what you want to work on and what progress looks like for you. My style is warm, direct, and involved, and I offer honest feedback while making space for your perspective.
I use CBT to explore the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, particularly when you are dealing with worry, self-doubt, overthinking, or difficult decisions. Mindfulness can help you become more aware of your thoughts and emotions without automatically getting pulled into them, while DBT-informed skills can support emotional regulation, communication, boundary-setting, and coping with difficult situations.
I prioritize helping you build practical tools you can use beyond our sessions. That might mean working through a recurring worry, learning to communicate a need, understanding a difficult emotion, or taking a manageable step toward something you have been avoiding. You do not need to have everything figured out before you begin. We can start with what has been difficult lately and work from there.
